Fansly vs OnlyFans for new models
People ask “Fansly or OnlyFans” the wrong way. Both platforms take a similar cut — about 20% of subscriptions, tips, and PPV. The difference is not “who pays a better percentage.” It is where the first paying fans come from if you have no name yet.
The short version, without the ad copy
OnlyFans is the bigger storefront in a fan’s head. Cold outside traffic often converts better because the brand is already familiar. There is almost no organic in-app discovery: without Instagram, Reddit, X, or paid traffic, the page sits still.
Fansly has a smaller audience, but it has in-app discovery (For You / explore), several subscription tiers on one account, and a higher ceiling on sub price. For a new model with no audience, that is often the faster path to first sales.
Both platforms are 18+. Neither one replaces shooting or chat.
What actually changes at the start
1. In-app discovery
On OnlyFans nobody “picks up” a new account until you bring people. On Fansly the recommendation feed can deliver the first subscribers before you have TikTok. That is not a lottery and not a substitute for work. It is a different floor: you are not at zero while you grind outside reach.
That is why “there is no point starting without Instagram” is often an OnlyFans template smuggled into a Fansly niche. Full argument: can you start Fansly without Instagram.
2. Tiers, not one price
OnlyFans historically lives on a single subscription. Fansly gives several levels: a cheaper door, a more expensive VIP, different media access. For an agency that is leverage: you do not sell everyone the same thing.
New models often err the other way — they copy a top creator’s price and cut off people who do not know them yet. Tiers let you keep the door open without dumping the whole library for the minimum.
3. Niche and rules
Fansly is generally more flexible on many adult niches; OnlyFans is stricter on some categories. Rules move. Check the current platform ToS before you launch, not a screenshot from a group chat that says “everything is allowed.”
If your format sits on a line, that is an argument for choosing a platform where the format is allowed — and writing the limits into the agency contract. It is not an argument for a grey scheme.
4. Money does not come from the wall
On both platforms, a well-run account makes the cheque in DMs and PPV, not from “a nice post.” If you pick a platform and then leave chat dead, Fansly versus OnlyFans will barely register. Separate piece: Fansly income is chat, not the feed.
What not to copy from other blogs
- “OnlyFans always pays more.” A bigger base is not your income. Without traffic you are invisible on OnlyFans.
- “Fansly is easy OnlyFans.” No. Different pricing, different discovery, a different kind of fan, a different test pace.
- Guaranteed “first month $X.” Public roundups float ranges for every taste. They are not your forecast. Anyone who promises a number before they have seen you shoot is selling the lead, not the result.
- The same content plan on both platforms with no adaptation. Different discovery, different tiers, different offer language.
For a Ukrainian model starting at zero
If you have no audience, no time to become a blogger, and you are willing to shoot — Fansly as the first platform is the more logical call. In-app discovery removes part of the pressure to “become an influencer first.”
If you already have live traffic (a feed, a Telegram channel, a list) — OnlyFans may convert that traffic faster. Then Fansly is a second surface, not a replacement.
Muse Agency is Fansly-first. A parallel OnlyFans launch is a separate conversation; we do not mash strategies into one template. Privacy (blocking Ukraine / CIS, no-face) works on both, but you have to set it — how country blocks work.
How we decide on the call
Not “which logo is cooler,” three questions:
- Are there already people you can bring to pay, or do we start at zero?
- What is the content format, and does it pass the platform’s rules?
- Who covers chat at 2 a.m. — you or a team?
The answers decide whether a first payout appears, not the badge in the header. If you want that breakdown for your case — send an application. The new-model bonus is available to everyone who starts with Muse; the amount depends on the case. Ask on the call and put the figure in the contract.
